Central Government Clients
Working across four distinct government clients, Devsultants drove the development of a comprehensive, multi-organisational AI strategy. Following the strategic design, our team helped these clients create and initiate work on a unified roadmap of tangible activities, ensuring each organisation could progress safely and realise measurable, practical benefits from the new technology.
National Policing Client
Our team developed and deployed secure, air-gapped AI capabilities utilising open-source components to augment human data analysis. Crucially, the architecture ensures that the AI makes no final decisions; instead, it triages and prioritises vast datasets, bubbling up the most critical information for human review. This approach acknowledges that human analysts are the most valuable resource, significantly accelerating their workflows without compromising on secure decision-making.
UK Government Client
Our team rapidly developed a user interface with sample data for senior stakeholder demonstrations of new capabilities to support the introduction of new legislation. The ability to show in real terms what the legislation would provide to end users helped create a shared understanding of the value it would create, ultimately leading to the beneficial legislation being introduced.
Secure Government Client
The team helped the client to set up and scale a new innovation facility to research and trial new concepts before passing the learnings, and prototype designs and outputs to a delivery function for national rollout.
Having only limited funding initially, the innovation facility was built up using minimal infrastructure, and open source technologies, but was able to demonstrate such value that additional funding was provided to scale the facility and take on new projects. This facility is still running today, with full technology stack integration, and a rainbow team on site to build and trial new capabilities for a range of partner organisations.
This facility has enabled partners to save millions in costs by de-risking delivery and identifying the optimal solutions which users can actually try before major rollouts.
UK Government Client
Devsultants created and deployed a range of bespoke containerised API-driven enrichment services alongside an orchestration framework, enabling data to be augmented prior to ingest into a data analysis platform, significantly improving the speed of analysis for the client teams, and leading to improved organisational outcomes.
National Policing Client
Members of the Devsultants team provided support to a national policing organisation to help them reduce ongoing operational costs, freeing up funds to develop new capabilities to help reduce crime and save lives.
Our team quickly integrated with the organisation’s own resources and within a short period of time were able to baseline costs and conduct benchmark comparisons against other similar organisations - in both the public and private sector. This identified large category areas of overspend which could then be examined and optimised, with the result being millions of pounds of savings identified with no reduction in existing capabilities.
In taking on this work, our team also up-skilled the organisation’s own team so that they could continuously monitor and improve the operational services for lasting benefit. This function is still running today, and members of that team have subsequently seen accelerated career progression by using the skills gained during that work.

Central Government Client
Our team worked with the client to develop a business case for a major transformation of one of its organisations. Having engaged with stakeholders and drawn on the information available, the team were able to quickly produce an Outline Business Case to secure funding for the necessary work. Having secured the funding, our team also set up the PMO functions to allow the delivery team to hit the ground running and ultimately complete the transformation successfully.

Our team provided tailored support to the development of the financial case for a complex multi-billion pound programme of work. Having designed and built a new tool to capture the relevant detail, our team engaged with the client teams to identify and set out spending profiles over the period - helping them to prioritise and map dependencies, and also to identify and mitigate optimism bias. The work on this financial case was crucial for the development of the overall business case, and led to the client successfully securing the required funding for the programme.
Central Government Client
Working closely with a blended team of platform and application suppliers, our team developed the overall architecture for a major new operational capability for the client. In order to facilitate the client’s requirement to have early access to some of the capabilities, the architecture was designed with multiple MVP transition states to align with the envisioned growth in usage over time.
As a result of subsequent (and substantial) environmental changes, the architecture required further modification, but our team was able to work in an agile way with the client and other suppliers to modify and update the architectural transition states, and maintain alignment with the required timeframes for delivery of the new capabilities, to help ensure that the client and their partner organisations could achieve the desired benefits.
National Policing Client
As part of a major IT Live Services transformation programme, our team helped the client develop and initiate implementation of a new strategy that was beneficial for, and achievable by, the organisation. Working closely alongside client teams, we helped prioritise and set out the roadmap of work to achieve near term benefits that would also form the foundations for their longer term operational vision.

Working as part of a rainbow team with other suppliers, Devsultants helped the client develop a functional specification for a new data set, and subsequently supported the team in the design and creation a data pipeline for that new data. This also involved quickly assessing outputs using tools including Pandas and Modin to generate lessons learned for the development of longer term solutions.

Devsultants helped an operational team getting started with the use of Elastic and Kibana to analyse data; building bespoke visualisations and dashboards, and providing on-site support with data analysis and turning business questions into viable data queries and answers which could then be presented to senior stakeholders.

Prior to the start of a data warehouse project, the Devsultants team supported the client in data sizing and investigation of available technologies which could be used to best meet the storage and access requirements. Subsequent work involved estimations of throughlife data growth, and whole life costings to enable the development of a suitable business case for the new capability.
Global Public Event
Devsultants was brought in to rescue the project management and planning for security and stewarding at a major, fixed-deadline public event. Facing a critical time shortage, our team rapidly engaged with stakeholders and individual specialists to consolidate disjointed efforts into a cohesive plan of action. We first modelled the trajectory of the existing approach to demonstrate the impending risks, and upon securing client approval, constructed and initiated a new, robust plan. This decisive intervention got the project back on track, ensuring all preparations were completed successfully and on time. The client described the work as “beyond all expectations”.

Following an initial operational efficiency assessment of the client’s technology and communications stack, Devsultants was commissioned to lead the complex implementation phase. This required orchestrating a portfolio of interconnected projects while carefully managing dependencies with a concurrent, large-scale technology transformation. We successfully delivered millions in financial savings with minimal operational impact and zero redundancies. Furthermore, we actively up-skilled the integrated client team throughout the delivery, equipping them with capabilities that led to almost all team members securing promotions and continuing to deliver exceptional work internally.
